Will we get into penn

help ease my mind

Alright, let’s see

Three kids from the same school, all applied ED, please give chances for each.

School=extremely competitive, no rank
Course Load = more or less the same
EC’s = for argument’s sake let’s say they’re bout the same

1st student

1500 SAT 750M 750V
97 GPA
710 IIC 700 Writing 690 Physics

2nd Student
1340 SAT 680 M 660V
93 GPA
730 IIC 680 Writing 630 Chem

3rd Student
1450 760M 690V
94 GPA
680 IIC 730 Writing 670 Physics 660 Spanish

What do you guys think the chances are?

1 is in, 3 is in, 2 is deferred

1st in, 2 and 3 are deferred

Well just because all your EC's are the same doesn't mean they're good? Are they good? If they are then I agree one is in, three is in, and two is deferred. If they're weak or only ok, I say one is probably in, two's rejected, and three is either deferred or rejected.

my ec's (im number 3)
President/Founder Business Club - I explained why i dont want to pursue business in undergrad in one of my essays

Editor of school newspaper

Challenger Program - Wwork every weekend with children that have autism/add/retarded etc - wrote essay bout that one

My recs will be good i think altho I cannot read them =[

I have more EC's, but they're minor in comparison

i think all might have a chance if the essays, ECs, etc are superior. #2 obviously has the grades, and just might not test well. idk. are these for the college/wharton/nursing/engineering?

College .

lol tis funny that you're founder ofbusiness club if u dont even wanna do business.

ya. what's up with all the clubs.
some people form clubs that don't mean anything and disapear after they're gone

"i made a CLUB sandwich, does that count??!"

how about these three

all three applicants have done at least 1 sport, while two of have done two.

applicant 1 - college
1440, high 600 average SAT II
rank 42/220, all honors +1 ap class

applicant 2 - college
1470, 720 SAT II average
rank 12/220, all honors + 4 aps

applicant 3 - SEAS
1370, 700 SAT II average
rank 26/220, all honors + 3 aps

From your 857 posts, we know that you are applicant #2. Stop tooting your own horn, chocoman.

That said, all three (I assume you all go to the same school) have the distinct advantage of being from Philadelphia, so despite the relatively mundane stats, you'll all probably get in.

ok my undergrad major is ECONOMICS so its pretty business related
eventually im going to pursue a career in business but not now

if u want the rest of my life story, feel free to email me <3

lol.....

good job redbarn....

o ya btw Applicnt #2 = in

wait is that from YOURS gold or from choco's??

just a point of clarification..is that 4 ap's including this year? wow I find that odd...including this year i've taken 12 aps...but i've never considered that a lot...is it? our valedictorian/saledictorian have taken like 15ap's...

my school doesn't let you take APs till senior year, except US. so that means when i graduate i only have 5 :-/

isn't it Salutatorian?

haha im saying chocoman has a very good chance

my school only offers 2 Aps...=[

my confidence just got DESTROYED.

somebody called our regional director and he said that this years pool of applicants was really competitive.

not good news lol.

ugh. UGH. UUUUUUGGGGHHHHH. i am so rejected it's not even funny.

Meaning regional applicants or as a whole?
