Will Yale accept "merely a check" (deadline)?

Hello :)

So.... I procrastinated, but at last I am ready to submit my app to Yale. However, I just learned that credit card payments are processed slowly by the Common App. Thus, I do not want to risk this method, since I am close to the deadline. Nevertheless, I noticed that I can pay by the "Mail Check" option. If I mail my check and postmark it by tomorrow (Dec 31), will it be too late for Yale? I know it accepts postmark deadlines when application materials are mailed, but I am not sure for "just a check"...

Thank you very much
and good luck to all the applicants! :)

Not sure about the “Mail check”, but I paid my Yale app fee yesterday with a credit card, and it the payment was processed and confirmed within seconds.

I think the “1-2 days delay” warning is just in case there is a specific problem with your card. So if your credit card works fine, you should be ok.

I’m wondering the exact same thing. Please tell me if you get a certain answer!

Just pay with your credit card if convenient. The system will authorize the information and you will be able to print out a receipt. No worries.

We saw that message last year, but personally, I feel that credit card is more reliable to go thru accurately and quickly. When I sent it thru, it ended up taking the standard few minutes. Thus, I think the notice is more of a disclaimer in the rare case that it doesn’t go thru quickly.

I would pay before 10PM tomorrow just in case there’s a massive influx of people slowing down the system then. You don’t want the confirmation page to fail to load.
