Will your selected major at university affect your admission chances ?

Do they take into account and consider the major u r intended to study ?

Like many students tend to specify in Bussiness and computer courses now, many specify in science but not as much as those.

when the adcom sees for example : I want to specify in astrophyiscs or the biological sciences, and those majors aint offerd at my home country and are much required ! would those cases boost your admission chances ?

Does your intended major affect your application ?

any other comment

The official answer is "no," unless you're a female interested in engineering! :P

Exactly........

I think they attempt to diversify their class but it's not a big factor. (I listed economics as my prospective major...)

I put down Physics as my prospective major - it may have helped, I'm a girl :D

ohh sucharita .. thanks for ur concern an help .. I thought you r m

well i dont think its a vital factor .. but they might only take it into account when dividing the classes ..

sucharita : what are your perspective plan when you get your degree , what made you choose this major ?

I will specialise in chemistry ( probably nuclear chem. )

to certain extent yes. They don't want all 1,200 people to be Physics or econ majors.

Yes, it does. If you've done massive science research a la Siemens and so on, and you put down "English" as a major, that will weird them out.

if i want to do an indivisual science research this summer ..
what can I do .. just for fun ?

any idea about that

contact professors at your local university.
