William and Mary Class of 2015 Decisions

We are in the final stages of releasing decisions but not all have been sent yet and remember there could be a delay between when they leave our server and arive in your in-box.

Congratulations to all those receiving “good things” in their in-box. Burghmom, so glad you liked the email. We’re big fans of it and hope it expresses the quirky intellectual nature of W&M itself.

teachandmom, best of luck to your D. We absolutely believe that there are multiple good fits for students and that your experience at any college is not worse than your experience at any other but simplly different.

Accepted!
OOS Male (NY)
Hispanic
2070 SAT
98.11 GPA

Happy, but not my top choice. However, money talks so we shall see. Congrats to all that were accepted.

I think I am having e-mail problems because my school’s email server was down earlier tonight, probably preventing me from receiving the admission decision. Is there any way I can contact the admissions office tonight or give them a separate email to forward my admission decision to?

oh HAY waitlist :(

OOS Female (AZ)
Asian/White
2080 SAT <– maybe why?
W: 4.49 UW: 3.89
Really good extra curriculars too…

sighh… we shall see

ACCEPTED! THANK YOU W&M Admission and the rest of the admissions staff!!! You have just officially made my day/week/year/life.

I was leaning towards Davidson because I thought I had no shot at W&M, but now I am absolutely ecstatic and torn. Here are my stats for onlookers (this really helped me with my college search last year, so I hope it helps somebody).

Caucasian OOS female from IL
SAT: 2080, ACT: 31
ECs: Dance company (sent in a video/resume), Model UN (executive board, travel to Russia and around the US for conferences), service trips
GPA: 3.95 (weighted, I think. No idea what it is unweighted. I get all A’s and maybe an occasional B)
Interview/Visit: Yes, and it went very well!
Essays: Common App was about my love of rhinestones and the time I came up with the idea for my friends and I to decorate polo shirts to enhance our school’s strict dress code. The optional submission was a short essay about how dorky I am.

Again, I want to thank everyone at William and Mary for reading and accepting my application. It’s an honor to even be considered for the Class of 2015, and to be invited in is something I never would have expected.

Accepted!!! So surprised yet so happy
act: 32

Accepted!!!
In-state male

Thank you so much to the admissions staff for your help and presence during this whole process.

GO TRIBE!!

Thank you william and mary for making a terrible day wonderful!!!

ecuadorpride, congrats. Financial Aid award notifications will be emailed in the next week or so. We hope you consider visiting campus for our Day for Admitted Students and give us the chance to convince you that W&M is the place you want to spend the next four years.

rebsrebs, unfortunately our office is closed. Additionally, we will only email decisions to the email address you placed in your Common App. That’s the only way we can verify that you are providing the email address. While we know it’s stressful, you will have to wait until your school’s server recovers and you can retrieve your email.

Yennaaa, no one factor alone makes or breaks a decision (i.e. your SAT alone would not be the sole reason you are waitlisted instead of admitted). Our process is more nuanced and holistic than a review of objective qualities alone. And the fact that you were waitlisted means you were an incredibly impressive applicant.

dancepsychlove, congrats. Glad to have made your day/week/year/life

accepted!
I’m really happy about this one, it means I don’t have to stay in chapel hill!

act - 34

is there anything wrong with my in-box?

Gryphon, minniemouse, benditlikebenjii and NoVAres, congrats and welcome to the Tribe!

eyeluvewe, we are still finishing up the emails and there may be a delay in your server receiving it. Additionally, we encourage you to check spam and junk folders thoroughly.

I didn’t get mine either, eyeluvewe. Hopefully it comes soon!

SAME @eyeluvewe…i’m freaking out. i applied ED and was deferred…maybe that’s why it’s taking longer for me?

Again, we still have a few batches to send. We’ll post when all emails have left our server.

accepted oos!! this made my night!!

I was deferred ED as well

Waitlisted

GPA: 3.75/4 and 4.52/5
SAT: 1970 Superscore

ECs were a little above average
Essays: Not bad
Recs: Pretty good?

I’m disappointed to learn that waitlisted applicants will find out in June. That’s way too late!

Accepted into Monroe!

Out of State ¶

SAT: 2210 (770 Reading, 710 Math, 730 Writing)
Subject Tests: 760 US History, 750 Lit
ACT: 33
Rank: 5 of 310 (weighted)

Congrats lolalago and nateheeter.

ahans, most waistlists do not begin to be utilized until June. Admission Offices have to wait to hear from all those who were offered admission. Those students have a postmark deadline of May 1 plus there are often deposit deadline extensions for extenuating circumstances so admission offices cannot determine whether or not to use the waitlist until late May/early June.

We encourage any student on the waitlist to deposit at another school by May 1. However, if W&M remains a top choice, you can remain on the waitlist and see if an offer of admission is made. If it is, you can forfeit your deposit at the other institution and choose to enroll at W&M. This practice is very commonplace within admission offices.
