Hi. I am a Virginia resident male in the IB Programme. I know that acceptance rates for W&M are notably higher for males. My GPA at this end of this year should be around 3.6 UW and 4.0 W. I know that these are rather low, so I will probably be doing early decision because I am pretty much set on this school. My SAT score is 2280 and my ACT is 34 composite. These are pretty good and I think will help alleviate the meager GPA that I have. Currently I am involved with madrigals, spring musical, church choir, Boy Scouts, Rho Kappa, NHS, Spanish Honor Society, English Honor Society, and Youth Group. I am incredibly passionate about music and have participated in district chorus for the past 2 years, and may be participating in all VA chorus this year. I also should be receiving my eagle scout this summer. I have some leadership roles within scouts, but that is about it as of now. I am also passionate about cooking and actually created my own cookbook and sold it to give money to the VA Children’s Chorus- this may be something to set me apart. I come from a low income family so that might help my situation and I have a brother that graduated from W&M and I also have a sister who currently attends so that might also help. Do you think I have a chance of getting in for early decision??
I think you have a very good shot. Your test scores are excellent for W&M and it helps that your siblings are there. As long as you had some course rigor, your gpa shouldn’t be much of an issue. Ecs look interesting too
Good luck. Great school
