I want to transfer to UVA (college of arts and sciences). I am currently a sophomore at W&M and went to a prestigious high school in Maryland. My first semester at college was a disappointment with a 3.2 gpa, but I picked it up my second semester with a 3.54, so overall my gpa for freshman year is 3.37. This semester I have done extremely well with a very rigorous course load: 18 credits
General chemistry I
Integrated Biology: Animals (basically zoology)
Macroeconomics
History of medicine in America
Feminism class
With a current gpa of roughly 3.8 but I want to finish with a 3.9 this semester, so I'm studying hard.

I applied last spring to transfer for the fall 2013 term, but was denied due to my bad grades and recommendation probably. This semester, I applied with a much stronger application: better grades, good recommendations, much better essays, etc.

I studied abroad in high school in spain (my first semester senior year) where I was completely alone and immersed into Spanish culture. This past summer I volunteered on a health care project in Nepal for a little over a month and had such an amazing experience. I incorporated both of these experiences in my essays.

In high school, I finished with a 3.8 gpa (I think, I can't quite remember) my sats were subpar with a 1280 between math and reading. If there's anything I'm missing just ask, but what do you think my chances are of getting in for this spring 2014 term? I know it's much more competitive than the fall due to the fact that there just are so many less spots, but let me know what you think.
