Chances of Transfer to UVA, W&M

Hey all,

So I submitted my apps to UVA and William & Mary a little while ago and I was wondering what my chances are of getting in. Here's my deal:

-I'm an in-state student with a 4.0 GPA as a 2nd semester freshman at George Mason University. I'm trying to transfer for the Fall 2005 semester.

-I'm currently doing an internship and writing for the school's independent newspaper.

-I also have 9 credit hours (3 courses) of transfer credit from VCU (all A's in those courses as well).

-I've been working two jobs, 20 hours a week.

-For UVA, I sent in two recommendations, one of which was from my professor who taught an upper-level anthropology course (his also went to W&M, as they only accept one).

This all sounds good so far, however there are few thing about my 'academic profile' that worry me:

1) I took a non-calcus math course last semester and I have no science credits so far (don't they want a balanced transcript with a higher math? I was ill-advised and found out too late you couldn't start taking a science 2nd semester) However, I do have plenty of social sciences and humanities courses, but nothing with a lab :(

2) My high school record is so-so...due to some extenuating circumstances I ended up with a 3.4 GPA (though I wrote a succinct explanation as to why my grades dropped a bit at the end). I didn't have much extracirriculars, but I worked a lot.

3) I ended up witha 1260 SAT and read somewhere that it wasn't worth retaking them to transfer, so I left it at that.

I do have a good chance of getting a 4.0 again this semester, but that will only help at W&M because UVA doesn't ask for mid-term grades for the spring semester. Maybe I'm lost to UVA, but what about W&M?

With those things in mind, what do you all think are my chances at both schools?...sorry for the long-ish post.

I'd appreciate the input, though!

thanks.

Sorry to double post, but does anyone have any ideas/experience/etc. on this?

Thanks.

Hmm...no one's responding. I'd reeeeaaaaallly appreciate some feedback please!

(sorry to TRIPLE post)
