William Carleton Scholars?

Does anyone happen to know anything about the William Carleton Scholars program? I was designated one in the acceptance letter, but it only states:

“In memory of the man for whom the College is named, a small number of students in each entering class are designated honorary William Carleton Scholars. Such designations are made in recognition of outstanding qualities of scholarship, character, and promise of superior achievement, however, it carries no monetary scholarship value. On the recommendation of the Committee on Admissions, it is my great pleasure to inform you that you have been named a William Carleton Scholar. In view of the accomplishments of other Scholars whom I have known, you join a very special group of persons.”

Is it similar to Columbia’s Egleston Scholars program in that it doesn’t provide additional scholarships or monetary benefits but other opportunities such as research, seminars, etc? Or is it simply a designation? The letter didn’t have any other information and Google doesn’t show anything either.
