Williams College Supplemental Essay

“Imagine yourself in a tutorial at Williams. Of anyone in the world, whom would you choose to be the other student in the class, and why?”

I wrote my essay with a fictional character as my tutorial partner. I like it overall and I think my choice of character is appropriate for providing a backdrop on what I want to discuss about myself in the essay (which I think is something Williams is trying to get at here), but I’ve been told choosing a fictional character for my essay may be too risky. Could CC weigh in on this? Does the prompt imply it should be a real person? And would anyone be willing to review my essay as a whole?

The essay prompt sounds as if they want a real person. But if you wrote a well written essay then you should be fine.
