<p>I hear that Williams economics really great both for a LAC and even against the "university standard." There was an interesting post that tried to put each university into tiers but just piled all the LACs together. Where do you think Williams would fit into the other list?</p>
<p>Most of those department rankings are research and reputation driven and don’t really address quality of undergrad teaching issues at all, so LAC’s are downplayed–Friends on Williams faculty speak highly of Econ as strong teaching department; catalogue has very solid set of offerings, including courses in cutting edge stuff such as behavioral /experimental economics</p>
