Thank you - that makes sense!
Good Luck Everyone.
Also, the Williams Record posted an interesting article on the spring enrollment numbers which could have a bearing on planning for next year:
Hey there!
Current international high school student here. was looking through the pdf submission of the common app and found that my SAT scores werenât on there.
Is this normal? And does the college still receive the scores?
@pohhhthepanda Yup! dont worry. its the case for everyone who self-reports scores in the Common App. as long as your checklist has a tick beside the SAT score report, ur good
This might sound dumb, but when they say eveningâŠwhat do they consider evening lol like 6pm?
On last years ED thread it was mentioned: 5:30-6:00pmET.
Itâs going to take all of the self control I have to let my son check the portal before me!! LOL!!!
Yes, itâs around 5pm EST, good luck all!
My son turned in Application the last day of ED cut off, he also EA MIT, not sure why, but we all fell in love with Williams when we did tour last Spring. Good luck every one!
Are you saying we might get the email by 2:30pm Pacific Time based on last yearâs release date? That would save me 4-5 hours of extra anxiety!
Ty.
Yes, 2:30 Pacific time/5:30 Eastern is about right.
3:30 Mountain time sounds great to me!
That would be great! Iâd be eager to see if there are any Ephs in NorCal. Everyone we talk to hear always asks âWhereâs that?â when we tell them about Williams.
The NorCal Ephs Alumni Association is very active, donât worry, lots of amazing Ephs in the Bay Area!
If admitted, does the financial aid offer come the same day in the same letter or later?
Lot of moving parts this yr due to covid so it will be interesting to see if application #s are shared by Williams in near future.
Uva, bc, Amherst, Duke, Unc seemed to indicate very large app increases yr over yr. Also be interesting to see if app submission is front loaded with subsequent rounds trending lower yoy.
All good questions, the Williams app numbers have increased significantly in the last few years, so may plateau but hard to say with COVID.
Unverified Amherst #s
- ED applications: approximately 850 (~40% increase over last year)
- ED admit rate: 25% (32% last year)
- ED expected representation in the Class of 2025: 45% (39% last year)
Interesting, the percentage of ED of the class is much higher than they have had historically. Williams typically has a larger ED pool than Amherst, will be interesting to see if the same holds true this year.
40% increase is crazy, I would think Williams numbers have to be up as well. Anyone know why they extended their RD deadline to January 8th? I though schools did that when application number are down, but I do not think that is the reason for Williams.
