Williams or Vanderbilt?

@Marcelleparcelle Congratulations, but you should discount all the romance about access to Wall Street. Most responding have no idea what “Wall Street” actually is nor do they know that all banks have been reducing staff for the past five years. It is likely to continue, BTW.

If you need further information I would look for facts. LinkedIn is the best source for this information and Vanderbilt is ranked in the Top 25, Williams is not. In fact, only a handful of all Williams alumni are working at investment banks in corporate finance. Many of these people also have graduate degrees.

Out of the two, pick the one you like the best overall. If you think that Goldman Sachs is waiting for you to graduate from Williams, you will be disappointed.

We just toured Vanderbilt today. What a stunningly beautiful campus! A big plus is that it is right in Nashville, a midsize city we both liked. It certainly moved up on D’s list.

Interestingly, our tour guide was a woman engineer who is graduating next month, and going to work on wall street.

Haha, good one. It’s a fact that tons of Williams alums wind up in investment banking and corporate finance and that Williams is a premier recruiting location for all the top financial institutions. Come on, now.
