Williams RD applicants - class of 2021

Ugh, I hate the waiting list!! It feels like this whole college application process will never end.

Does anyone know if you can accept a place on more than one waitlist?

Rejected… Among those who got in how many of you are international students?

@williams2021

I am sorry to inform you that you were not included among those selected for admission to the Williams College Class of 2021. In conveying what’s sure to be disappointing news, I want to emphasize the Admission Committee’s appreciation of your ability to do very fine college work and its awareness of the contributions you’ll make to the college you attend.

Meeting over the past two months, we have made decisions on more than 8,500 applications, representing one of the most outstanding groups of candidates in the college’s history. The quality and diversity of the applicants this year made it enormously difficult for our 11-person Committee to decide among all of these wonderful students.

In selecting the Class of 2021, the Committee sought to incorporate a variety of talents, interests, and backgrounds from applicants who would benefit from and contribute to a Williams education. Ultimately, though, the reality is we have room in our first-year class for fewer than one in fifteen candidates.

I know the coming years will be rewarding ones for you, both intellectually and personally, and I wish you every success as you embark upon your college career.

Sincerely,

(THEY ARE SO MEAN) lol

GUYS!!

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., March 24, 2016—Williams College has extended offers of admission to 1,206 applicants for the Class of 2020. They were selected from a total applicant pool of 6,982, for an overall acceptance rate of 17 percent.

This year there were more than 1500 extra applicants compared to last year TT it’s getting harder every year. I can’t imagine how it would be like in 50 years lol (unless unis increase their capacity which would take a long time)

Rejected

@StuDYING4College Didn’t you go to Windows On Williams? I thought WoW attendees have pretty much a guaranteed acceptance for Williams College.

lol rejected

I got accepted! Finally some good news after the swarm of waitlists xD

I only have 3 checkmarks and 3 documents showing up.

@Benny365 Hey, you never know what the world will be like in fifty years. Perhaps Williams will be nonexistent, or the world will be half flooded by global warming, or people won’t go to college in the same way as we do now. Well, those things probably (hopefully) won’t happen, but I think people are having less kids now than ever.

International and accepted with financial aid! So happy!

International student with high need, waitlisted.

Congratulations @ChemIsHard! Makes me happy to see all these internationals get in with aid!

@Noob99, you got waitlisted at Williams, that is an achievement on its own! It was probably down to the need factor since Williams is need-aware (and rest-assured internationals here are leading the charge to change that). That means other top colleges that don’t take your need into consideration as much will be happy to have you! Even so, good luck on getting off the waitlist

@IntEph2019 thanks alot. The only officially need blind school in my list is Princeton, however hoping some need aware ones choose to take me as well soon. Cant stand the wait anymore. So far waitlisted at 4 places( kenyon, FandM, Colorado College, Williams) and rejected at 3. 13 left

@greenteen17 Im just saying that if the world continues as this rate, it would be disastrous in the future

late to the postings (gotta do results) but uh sadly williams waitlisted me.

I was accepted! I didn’t apply for financial aid though.

@IntEph2019 Thank you! The aid they give is very generous, making me feel this is like a dream…

Hey Everyone! Anyone get the Williams card in the mail? I just got mine and there was a signed not on it. Anyone get that? I can’t read the name and I was wondering who it was.
