So I just found out I'm in Wilson 303C, which is a single (which I knew about a while ago from my bursar account) and I really didn't want a single, so I requested reassignment. Since then, however, I've heard something about suites in Wilson and was wondering what they exactly are? On the website it mentions something about 2rooms/4people share a bathroom, but that sounds like it's only for doubles. Are there going to be 3 other singles by me (303A, B, and D)? Are the rooms connected at all? I would appreciate any help because I'm considering sticking with this single if it's not too isolate. Thanks!

honestly, i'm not sure if it's going to be three other singles, or like a double and a single, but there are going to be 303s of other letters. i'm not really familiar with that part of wilson though, but it's not like you're by yourself at the end of the hallway. i think it'll be really worthwhile for a single, actually.

Ok this is Wilson's setup: four or so rooms are connected to a hallway and a bathroom, so there's like 5-7 or so people per bathroom (but you have to clean the bathroom yourself, except for a couple times per year when it is cleaned for you). These small hallways run parallel to the main hallway in most cases. The suites don't have their own commons room or anything, just the common hallway. Some rooms are singles, some are triples, and most are doubles. Having a single is nice, but it is a bit isolating, especially during freshman year. Since you'll be in the suite, it probably won't be too bad, and how isolated you are is ultimately dependent on your own personality.

is it true that on the 2nd floor only 2 rooms share a bathroom?

My daughter lived on 2nd floor and only 2 rooms shared a bathroom, but I don't think the whole hall was set up that way. It was bad that they had to clean their own bathrooms though. She much prefers a hall bathroom with daily cleaning provided by the custodial staff.

The only drawback that I have found with hall bathrooms has been when the cleaning staff decides to clean all 3 men's bathrooms in your dorm... at the same time. It only happened a few times, and it seemed that it always happened when I really needed to take a shower before class or going to work.

haha...agreed. although i never had all 3 bathrooms being cleaned at the same time (in bassett). i didn't mind the communal bathrooms at all. they were kept clean (besides when we trashed them at night regularly) and that's what matters the most as far as i'm concerned.

haha yes, being on the second floor of Giles, I had nothing but the utmost adoration for our housekeepers, who had to deal with everyone on my floor trashing both the bathroom and the hallway on almost a nightly basis. Good times, good times.
