Windows 11 - Has anyone made the switch?

Has anyone made the switch to Windows 11? If so, how is your device functioning? Are there any precautions to take?

(I apologize if this topic has been raised before…I did a search on CC and didn’t see anything on point.)

I’m very curious about this too. I’ve declined the update twice now waiting to learn if it’s worth doing.

Same here, but I think I’ve declined MANY, MANY times. I am a bit surprised this hasn’t come up before on CC, but perhaps I missed it when searching for older posts.

I bought a laptop with Win 10 and upgraded it to Win 11. It’s the same software with a new coat of paint slapped on. If you have an older computer and the OS works fine, you wouldn’t gain anything by upgrading. In fact, it could damage your system if it doesn’t support your hardware. If you have a newer computer, you still wouldn’t gain much, if anything, by upgrading, but it can’t really hurt. It’s not buggy or bloated. It’s just not much of an upgrade.

I have upgrafed to Windows 11. Ive had no issues and the differences are minor but useful… icons are centered on thr taskbar, there is a useful tool for managing multi window layouts, and the windows interface looks better and is easier to use. I am sure there are a lot of features that are more technical but those are the ones I’ve noticed and appreciated. This is the first windows upgrade that did not cause major issues for me.

I have been using it for the past few months and noticed no issues.

H has switched to Windows11 on his Surface & likes it. Our other PCs are too old other than D’s, which she doesn’t want anyone touching.

I upgraded, but after experiencing issues, I rolled back.

I just got a new laptop so hello Win 11! I typically hate any sort of software update/change anyway so it will take a bit of adjustment.

My laptop did an automatic upgrade to Windows 11. Immediately, I had problems with my audio. After being in the sleep mode, it would have an x next to the sound icon and would say “no audio device found” or something like that. The only way to get sound back would be to restart the computer. If I walked off and it went into sleep mode, the sound would go out again. I tried every solution I found on the internet and none of them worked.

One day the problem was “magically” fixed. The only thing I can come up with is that a new update was downloaded and it was intended to fix the bug.

Can’t. My old tablet (that does everything I want it to do) is not powerful enough for Win.11. I really do get tired of ‘planned obsolescence’. My professional programs are notorious for that. (I’m looking at you - Autodesk). I even purchased multiple versions years ago (owned --not subscriptions), that I can no longer use because they won’t give me an install key code after my former computer crashed. Sorry – I digress!

I switched a few months ago (it actually came up while I was on vacation… I think maybe during Thanksgiving and i accidentally accepted it). It caused a lot of slowness issues for me at first… however that has since been resolved with some sort of hot fix. It is fine now. Aside from that, I haven’t had any issues.
