Edit: it is saying my post and your post justaspy is from yesterday lol. I dont know why

They said “by the end of the day on August 25th.” I haven’t gotten an email either…I have no idea what their plan is at this point.

I didn’t get anything either, the waiting is such a struggle.

I just got mine!! Accepted !!

lol I got declined but they offered “fee waivers” and said I was “competitive” Yeah alright.

Did anybody who got declined receive an offer to have their WOW application reviewed by the admissions committee so they could give you feedback? Or are they just doing that to make us feel good?

I was rejected-they offered me a common app fee waiver and a chance for me to get feedback on my application.

Got that offer well over a month ago, said WOW was “full” - interesting that several people have been accepted since then.

I was rejected earlier today and also was told that I was a “competitive applicant” , received a fee waiver for the Common App and feedback for my application. I wonder how many were offered the same?

Accepted! However… my interest in Williams has definitely waned since I submitted my application in June, so I think I’m going to decline. Hope it opens up a spot for one of you! :)

Rejected, and I got the “competitive applicant,” statement as well. Did you guys get accepted to any other fly ins?

yay rejection

Just got my acceptance.

Really baffled to hear what the criteria was? It’s meant to be for low-income students to visit campus, right? My single parent makes less than 10K a year, no one in my family has graduated high school, and I’m ethnic and (lgbt) minority.

^^ Congrats Blazelisk and LukKreung I think probably also has to do with transcript and SAT scores?

Congrats on all those that got accepted! I submitted on the second date and I got accepted. Might deliberate on my choice of attending since it seems that Williams may not hold my areas of interest, so maybe some of yous can get a spot!

Thanks for the congratulations! I have decided to attend the September session just because my homecoming is on the October date. I’m hoping to receive more information soon because the date is nearing!

Thank you for your interest in Williams College and the Windows on Williams (WOW) program.

I am writing to let you know that unfortunately, we are unable to include you in this year’s WOW program, but I want to be sure you understand why. WOW is primarily meant to give students from low-income and first-generation college-going backgrounds an opportunity to visit campus and experience college life first hand. Given one or both of your parent’s academic accomplishments, we feel that it is important to give other students who may not have as much exposure to a college-going culture the opportunity to visit.

BEFORE YOU DELETE THIS EMAIL, I want you to know that this decision is in no way a reflection of how impressed we are by your application. In fact, I am waiving your Common Application fee because we believe you are still a competitive applicant for admission to the Class of 2019 and hope you will decide to apply. Each year, we accept many students to Williams that we were not able to bring to WOW.

Receive personal feedback from a Williams admission officer:
As a strong WOW applicant, we would like to offer you the rare opportunity to receive feedback on your WOW application from a Williams admission officer. This service is ONLY offered to a small number of select WOW applicants that we believe can be strong candidates to Williams this year. We do not offer this opportunity to any other students in our entire applicant pool. If you would like feedback on your WOW application, please email us HERE. In your email, please include the best phone number and email that we can reach you at to arrange your appointment.

Using your Williams College Fee Waiver on the Common Application:
In the Williams-specific questions page of the Common Application, you will be asked “Do you intend to use one of these school-specific fee waivers?” Select “Applying for a Williams College Fee Waiver.” As a select WOW applicant, your fee waiver request will be automatically granted when you make this selection.

Additionally, I want you to know that if you are admitted to the Williams Class of 2019, you will be considered for an all-expense-paid visit to campus during our admitted students program this April – a program that offers the same visit experience as WOW.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions at all. I wish you all the best for a wonderful senior year and I look forward to reviewing your Williams application this winter.

Warmly,

See the substance of the rejection received from WOW at comment #37. The application was submitted in May; got rejected in late August. Not sure if this will encourage an application. Why spend the time submitting documents when the criteria is ambiguous and response time was completely inconsistent with the time when we were led to believe we would get a decision (in late June, early July).

Got accepted to Wellesley and will be attending. Waiting to hear from Bryn Mawr, Pomona College, and Wesleyan University. Going to apply to Brandeis University.

Anyone going on the October date?
