Alright so EVERY thread on this topic that I have searched has conflicting answers. IF I take winter courses at a cc and IF they finish before the transfer update, will they be factored into the admissions decision/overall gpa? Has anyone talked to a UC official and asked? I don't see why they would not factor it if it's on the update, it doesn't really make sense.

Yea I am pretty sure if you have the grade by January 31st it will count…

To OP - Maybe, maybe not but they will definitely at least see them if they are included in your update.

No one on here can give a definite answer we give best guesses some UC’s only take fall grades into consideration and the grades received after that simply as maintaining their current GPA

@nickwooddd I’m hoping that’s the case @matt4200 I know but I was hoping maybe someone had some experience with this or talked to someone from the UCs or had any links to information…

I asked the representative. She said that they will not be factored towards your TAG gpa requirement but they will look at it

@Mik194 - Where did this post involve TAG? lol

OP - Pretty much what I said before yeah they’ll look at it but more than likely it will not be calculated into your cumulative GPA, I think it says somewhere on the UC site that ONLY Fall grades and earlier grades will be used in the admissions process, anything after that is just to maintain that GPA.

@Mik194 That’s fair, but do you also happen to know if that applies to the cumulative gpa that they make decisions with? Thanks! @Matt4200 Hmm alright well if anything at least they see it. Thanks :)

@Matt4200 It didn’t… but TAG gpa requirements are the same as the gpa requirements for regular admission. So no they will not be counted towards your cumulative gpa to make decisions.

@Mik194 - Eh not rly they are similar but not 100% always the same

For example a couple UC’s say that for TAG the GPA must be met and solidified by the end of summer before fall even starts for the application period just food for thought

Every UC is different, so we can never be 100% right.

@funkymonkey03- they will definitely look at your winter courses, so just do well in them esp if theyre for your major.
