winter transfer advice

I was recently admitted as a transfer for the Winter quarter and was wondering if any previous winter transfers could tell me a little bit about their experiences. How smooth was the move-in process? Were you satisfied with the housing you were assigned to? How was the registration process in terms of getting the classes you needed and at convenient times? I just paid the enrollment deposit...now what? I'm coming from California, so i'm anticipating the dramatic change in weather to be the hardest adjustment to make. Any advice on how to make the transition a little smoother?

Any advice/insight would be much appreciated. I'm really looking forward to the next 2 1/2 years :)

It is difficult at first - check craigslist for a sublet for the semester. Bring many warm clothes. Speak to academic advising and get your schedule done before you go there - classes fill up quick.

thanks..

another thing, how long will it be before i actually receive my admission packet in the mail? i was accepted last week. i already paid the enrollment deposit..am i supposed to recieve anything else after that?

hey, when did you apply? my husband and i applied mid august and we haven't heard anything yet...it's driving us nuts because we have to move the whole family if we get in.

my app was complete september 18 and i was accepted october 5.
