Winthrop University is a small
SC state university of approx 6000 students that is usually generous with merit scholarships. Winthrop University was Clemson University’s "sister school " before Clemson went co ed. They have a well respected teaching program. It is located in Rock Hill SC ( many consider Rock Hill a suburb of Charlotte)which makes it a reasonable choice for South Carolina and North Carolina residents.
My daughter is a high school junior and we are researching colleges. Winthrop is on her list and we have a spring visit scheduled. We would appreciate any information and adding Winthrop to College Confidential would be a great help. My son is presently in college and we used CC extensively to research MIT, Rose-Hulman, Georgia Tech, and Clemson. We gathered a wealth of information but never posted. No posts doesn’t mean no interest. For those looking to research Winthrop - they come to CC and see there’s very little information - and move on to another site.
