Winthrop University - MISSING????

Why has Winthrop University been ommitted from the listing of colleges on this site? It is a major state school in South Carolina. I attended Clemson, my eldest daughter attended University of South Carolina and now my youngest daughter attends Winthrop University. I was extremely impressed with this school and would put it on par with Clemson or USC.

The Princeton Review has named Winthrop University among the “Best in the Southeast” due to criteria based on student surveys, academics, admissions selectivity, financial aid, fire safety, quality of life and sustainability.

It is one of 136 institutions that Princeton Review recommends online at “2013 Best Colleges: Region by Region,” that posted this week on the company’s website.

In Winthrop’s profile, the Princeton Review describes it as “a public university, which is reflected in its diverse student body, but it has a private university feel in terms of the small size of classes, the caliber of the faculty, and the beauty of the campus.”

PLEASE CONSIDER ADDING WINTHROP UNIVERSITY TO THIS FORUM. My family has gained much knowledge from this site and we were sad not to be able to do the same for my youngest daughter.

Hello there, expatengr…we do appreciate your input. Typically, forums are created if there is sufficient ongoing discussion to warrant it. In the case of Winthrop there have been 11 dedicated discussions for that school in the past 6 years, so there is simply not yet enough activity on our forums surrounding this school. Granted, one could argue that creating a forum could foster the growth of discussion, but we have many general forums (College Search & Selection and College Admissions, for example) where school-specific threads are posted, and we have created numerous new forums based on this activity. We can certainly check Winthrop at a future date to see if anything has changed.

Thanks again for your feedback!

I was looking for Winthrop University, but now I know why I couldn’t find it…
