WISE Program vs. Honors Housing at UMICH?!

Hey everyone! I will be attending UMICH this fall, and I wanted to ask about my housing options. I was accepted into honors (yay!).... but they sent me the email after the deadline for housing. I would be put on a weight list, with a low chance of actually getting into south quad.

In addition, I was accepted into the Women in Science and Engineering program (WISE) which is an all female learning community. I was just wondering if there were any people with experience with WISE. If so, please answer my questions!

Advantages/ Disadvantages of WISE- is it a good choice?
Should I be put on the weight list instead of WISE? (which is more preferable)
Does WISE set you up for long lasting friends throughout all the four years at UMICH, or only freshmen year
Lastly, I will say that I am interested in having guy friends (but I'm not boy crazy, don't worry) so does WISE make it harder to be friends with guys?

Also, if anyone has any experience in HONORS housing, please tell the the advantages/ disadvantages as well! Thanks so much!!

whoops I spelled weight instead of wait… sorry

WISE RP is only for freshman and sophomore. My D is accepted to it too. Honors housing is only for LSA while WISE would have both LSA and CoE, but only female. One advantage of WISE I see is the air conditioning of MoJo.

i dont know much about the programs themselves but dorm wise- mojo over south quad. although south quad is newly renovated, the dorm rooms arent unlike mojo. I lived in a dorm without central air last year, the worst. luckily ill be living in mojo this coming up year. mojo is still a co ed dorm and you wont be in your dorm much anyway.
