Wiseman or Hickenbottom?

Hello i am an incoming business student at UT, and am currently indecisive about staying in Wiseman's class or getting on the waitlist for Hickenbottom?

Any experiences with the two professors?

Thanks. :)

If you do a search or go back a few pages on forum you’ll see quite a few posts asking about these professors. But to give you the general consensus Hickenbottom seems to be more favored over Wiseman, who was my professor last year, and who many students (including myself) have had terrible experiences with.

I wrote a good review of hickenbottom in an thread here a few weeks ago. I really liked him as a teacher, and his tests followed the homework and reading well. Everything made sense and there were no surprises.

so what about hamermesh?

harryhb10, have you looked at the following sites?

Dan Hamermesh sucked. I had a hard time hearing him and I sat in the front. He jumps around a lot and has horrible handwriting. Also, if you are easily tricked on MC tests and are a bad test taker, avoid him at all cost.

wow…already checked all three sites before but also

UTLife.com (has old grade reports and reviews)

a lotta mixed reviews about ECO 304K instructors. Every instructor seems really hard to make an A these days. I think only 4 instructors teach this course which are Hamermesh, Hickenbottom, Sibley, and Wiseman. Out of those prof., which one would be the easiest to take since im going for engineering and i need a social science credit, but also thought about going for business too? :D

Hickenbottom is always my recommendation. Highest percentage of A’s, the tests are over the exact same material as the homework which are over the exact same material as the lectures, no trick questions, plenty of office hours and supplemental instruction, and he basically reads the book to you in class (so if you are confused about something or he covered it too fast, finding the content in the book is very easy, and it reads just like his lecture sounded so you can follow along with your own notes too.)

If you wait to take Micro during the Spring semester, you might have Trejo as a possible professor and IMO he is the best (all my friends who took him were non-econ majors and all of them walked away with an A- or better)

^^ Trejo is weird. He curves down so you may have a B but you’ll get a C. be wary of him
