With my stats, what schools should I apply for a Wall Street job?

I want to major in Finance and go into IB or Private Equity Management. I know what I'm getting into (my dad was banker) and I actually enjoy the whole deal. I am a workaholic. I know its a tall order with my stats, but please help. Also, my aim is to get into Wall Street, so the Finance major is also not necessary, so schools without Finance or Business majors (Eg: UChicago) are game also. Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you in high school? Why are you worrying about Wall Street? Go have some fun, you've still got a ton of years ahead of you, and you might decide that business isn't for you...

But if you're one of those anal bookies, go for HYPS, Wharton, etc. All the Ivies really. Emory is also a semi-target and Vandy gets a couple looks every year.

^Actually, Emory's Goizueta is ranked something like 5th for business schools. It's gaining more and more respect. I don't have a source on that one though.

Wharton is really heavy on legacy students and other elites who really don't deserve the spot. It's too cutthroat. I would go for schools like Georgetown, University of Virginia, MIT, and other high-ranked business schools.

Is it some sort of joke about your stats? Take a look at the median ranges of some of these schools. Then complain about your crummy stats.

Yes, it is ranked 5th only because many of the top schools do not have undergrad business programs. It certainly is not better to be a business undergrad at emory than an econ major at HYP.

How come every azn thinks they went to the "WORLDS MOST COMPETITIVE" or an "EXTREMELY CUTTHROAT"

News flash... you probably didn't.

I bet you haven't even been laid, get laid before you get paid, don't you know that saying?

Too cut-throat? You want to go to business school and work on wall street but are worried a school is "too cut-throat"? Go work in compliance or something and dont talk about a school you know absolutely nothing about.

Where did that come from, who are you attacking, your rebutal makes no sense and serves no use

Intended for JBVirtuoso and his claim that Wharton is "heavy on students who don't deserve a spot" and "is too cut-throat". Lots of garbage is spoken on these forums by people who have no idea what they are talking about.
Sorry if my original post was not clear

Ditto. Those remarks regarding Wharton miss the mark. Competition is stiff to get in, but this perception of a "cut-throat" environment does not even begin to accurately describe Warton.

If you want a great shot at Wall Street after undergrad b-school, I would look into Penn, NYU, Georgetown, given their NE location, undergrad b-school reputations, and recruiting history.

And I do believe there's a lot of credibility in Goizueta's business school, given its development in the past several years. There's a reason why the former dean of Goizueta, Roberts, was just hired as the new dean of the Wharton School.

What year are you Lucky?

'10. and you?
