Hi I`m a community college international student in California. I would like ask questions
My GPA is 3.83 and I want to transfer to whether UCB Political science or UCLA global studies or UCSB international relations or UCSB global international studies. I have finished my IGETC
As a extra activity, I made a new club about international relations in my college, and Im president of the club, I
m also the president of music club. I have volunteered for homeless people to feed
I also speak Japanese, Chinese, Korean,Spanish and French. I have traveled Europe and Asia to experience and study their culture.
When I was in high school, I also founded track and field club, and I was a president and lead the club to regionals so in terms of leadership, I have a confidence.
My political science professor and anthropology professor offered to write a recommendation letter for me
Do you think I will be accepted by those universities? And If you have a good suggestion regarding transferring those Universities, please give me some advices
UCLA Global Studies average admit is about a 3.85, so you are right there. (https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof14_mjr.htm#FI)
Your ECs look good.
UCs don’t accept letters of recommendation.
I’d say match at UCB/UCLA, in at UCSB.
Edit: are you TAP certified?
It looks great! Also consider Haas undergrad. They have a global component. Your multi-lingual bkgrd is a major plus!
Thank you so much for your reply. What is Haas undergrad?
Haas is one the top business schools in the US. It’s at Berkeley. They have MBA and undergrad. Huge recruiting goes on from top firms who swarm to the haas students.
Way higher reputation than global studies or intl studies. Not saying the others aren’t great, but Haas is Haas. They would LOVE you! Plus they like int’l students.

ECs are extra curricular activities - your clubs, internships, jobs, volunteering, etc. they like to see leadership roles.
Thank you so much for quick reply and giving me a good information.
My friend got into UCB as a Political Science major with a 3.5 and minimal EC’s. I’m sure you’ll get in.
