I've been accepted but I don't wish to attend. In the packet they send you, it says to please send in a withdraw card if you're going to a different college.

Do I actually have to send this in if I'm not going to USC?

Yes it will give spring admits a spot to bump up to, they would appreciate it if you sent it :)

yes! as soon as admissions is aware that you will not be attending USC in the fall, they bump a spring admit to a fall admit (i’m assuming you’re a fall admit?). also, if you received any financial aid, that money becomes available for someone else.

It is a courtesy so they know how many students will be attending and can move Spring admits up if there is room. If you don’t want to put it in the mail, a quick email saying you will not attend and including your USC ID will do the trick.

I know the Spring admits here would be very grateful if anyone not planning to attend would let USC know as soon as possible.

If you don’t respond, there will be no negative consequences for you.

Congratulations on your acceptances, and good luck at the school you chose!

Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely be sending it in ASAP than if it’s going to help out others. At first, I thought it was pointless red tape.

Thanks! :)

No problem, just dropped it into the mail box a couple of minutes ago.

Hopefully this somehow helps one of my friends who isn’t sure if he’s gotten in yet or not :)

helljumper, I wish there were other fall admits like you thank you and congrats on the acceptance!

Helljumper, what was your major?

Biomedical Engineering

Hopefully my spring admitted engineer friend will get that spot :D
