I got accepted to UCI, but then received a withdrawal letter two days ago.
The reason for the withdrawal was because of the three D's I received.
I still maintained a 3.3 weighted GPA and am trying to send an appeal letter,
but I am not sure if my explanation would change their decisions.
I have had good grades up till the semester exams which had dropped my grade drastically.
Has any one gotten re-accepted with the same problem?

The UCs can and will rescind for Ds. 3 is pretty bad, I do not think you will get a positive decision without something that explains those grades, like having surgery to remove cancer or something. 3.3 W is pretty low for UCI.

There are reports sometimes that students avoid getting rescinded by contacting the college early, but I have only heard that for one D. Do a search, or read in the California Colleges forum, something people discuss it there.

The good news is that CA is very easy to go to Community College and transfer to UC. Your family will save money and you can still have the UC diploma.
