I am trying to withdraw from a class after the deadline. I have been told I will have to receive a ‘‘WF’’ in order to withdraw. However, I believe an exception should be made (reason below) and I should be allowed to withdraw with a ‘‘W’’.
I suffered a loss in the family one and a half months before the deadline for withdrawal from a class. Following the passing of that family member, I was involved in weeks of legal issues because this person did not leave a will. Additionally there were multiple disputes over how to divide the estate. This issue was compounded with the fact that I had to consistently travel to another country to handle these problems personally. As well, I have had to take on a second job in order to compensate with my new financial situation following the death of this family member that supported me in college.
I had hoped to return to class and resume my studies, however, I have missed so much due to this issue, that in addition with this new job, it is just too much to recover from reasonably. Is there anyway I can appeal to someone with my situation?
