Withdrawing from calculus senior year?

I’m failing calculus. I don’t need the class to graduate. I have 4 math units already. I am taking 3 AP classes. I am thinking of withdrawing from the class. It won’t show on my transcript at all. If I do this it means I am not taking a full course load as it is too late to replace it with another class. How will this affect my college apps?

You might also ask your guidance counselor if there is a lower level of calculus you can move into. If not, it is better to withdraw than fail. (My comment assumes that you have been working hard in the class, doing the assignments, seeing the teacher for help, etc. and you are still failing.)

Note that if you have sent in college applications then you need to notify each school that you have dropped the class. If you haven’t completed your applications and the class won’t show up on your transcript then it will be easier to drop it.

I have tried everything with tutors and my teacher. It’s too late to change into another class. I am just hoping that the schools will not penalize me because of a light load. I am taking 3 AP classes along with 2 other regular classes.

If you have given it your all and are still failing, then I’d withdraw from the class. A D or F senior year can lead to a college acceptance being rescinded.
