I am wanting to withdraw from the college I am enrolled at. I am not scheduled to start until June. I signed an MPN and accepted my award letter. I found another school that I really want to go to because they have more of what I want. The loans haven't been dispersed and I have never attended any classes. Like I said, classes don't start until June. Will withdrawing from the previous school have any affect on the student loans I may receive from the other school? If so, how?

Just make sure you officially withdraw from the first school before the date that any tuition and fee payments are due. Don’t assume that school 1 will drop you because you don’t show up (we had a student on CC recently who just assumed his school would drop him if he never showed up and he ended up owing a bunch of money).

You will sign a new promissory note for the school you actually attend.

And get written confirmation of your withdrawal!
