I have just completed my first midterm for my Gen. Physics I class at my school's summer program, and have performed extremely poorly. The professor does drop one midterm grade and curves up to a B- at then end of the semester, but at this point, I feel like I would have trouble aiming for that B- even with the drop based on my first exam score. I've done some research on getting a W on your transcript, and the consensus seems to be that 1 or 2 doesn't make a heavy impact on your chances, but can anyone else give me some advice as to what to do here? My main worry here is that because it's a summer course, would med schools see it any different than withdrawing during the semester? Should I stick it out and risk getting a C or below on the chance that this first exam was just an oddity and aim for a B, or should I just withdraw and take it at a later time where I know I positive that I can get a higher grade than what I would end up with now? It would be nice if advice could be given by the end of the week as the withdrawal period ends this week.

my premed advisor said that med schools look at a W as being the same as a D
