I have most recently applied for enrollment at WGU (Western Governors University), and I am struggling getting my old transcripts from my previous school.
Long story short there was some cost not covered by financial aid that I was made aware of when it was sent to collections.I believe the balance is around 1k or so.
I disputed the collection, and it was removed from my credit report. But the school still won’t give me my transcripts. Is there any way around this? School is in Florida if it matters.
Thanks in advance
Victor
Until you pay the college what you owe them there will be no transcripts.
Just because you got it off of your credit report does not mean you don’t owe them the money. They sent it to collections to have someone else to try to get you to pay your debt.
As @TomSrOfBoston said unto you pay the school you will never get your transcripts. You need to contact them and work this out if you want to go back
Thank you guys for your responses. I may just have to do that, although I am not in agreement with the financial obligation they’ve deemed to be necessary.
Why don’t you agree with it?
You should, have resolved this with the COLLEGE if you didn’t agree. To do so, you would, have needed either receipts that showed you paid the bill already OR some kind of documentation that would prove you don’t owe them money.
