How long will it take to be notified if you’re accepted? I know they examine candidates weekly, so do they also send out acceptance letters weekly? When should most of the candidates know if they’re in?

There was a small burst of people receiving LOA's in the middle of November, and since then it's been silent (including me, still waiting with hope!). So I would assume that it's monthly, and the next batch will go out in about a week and a half. Also, 72 LOAs were given out in the first batch; that value fits in for what I would think to be a monthly amount, because around 200 LOAs are given out every year, so that would fit the time line about right; they pass out LOAs every month until nominations are due in January, which is when they can start sending out full acceptance letters. ~70 in Nov, ~70 in Dec. and ~70 in Jan is around 200 LOAs total.

That's just my logical thinking, I could be wrong.

Appointments can come at any time after you get a nomination. My son received his appointment last year (Dec. 7th) two weeks after he got his nomination. He did not receive an LOA. So if your app is complete and your medicals are good, once you get the nomination things can happen pretty fast. We were shocked that he recieved the appointment so early in the process. We were expecting to hear something in the Feb/march timeframe. Needless to say, we just considered it an early Christmas present. Hang in there, I know the waiting and wondering can be frustrating.

I know some people who have received their appointment a mere week before Iday.

ciafad... thats interesting about getting the appointment so early, and not even an LOA. Hopefully ill have my nomination next week. I have a MOC interview this weekend, and last year i got my nomination three days later! If i dont get a nomination, im otherwise SOL (unless i get one from senator...)

Good luck on your interview Snipe. Pulling for you all the way!

MOST will know by the end of March/beginning of April.

snipper_cr.... Good luck with the interview.

That is one thing my son didn't have to do during the application process. For whatever reason both senators and our representative chose not to conduct interviews for their nominations. In the end my son ended up with a nomination from one of the senators and one from our representative.
