Every once and awhile I check this Wofford site and NOTHING. Big goose egg. Surely someone must attend or there is someone who is applying that wants to step up to the plate and tell us all what they think of Wofford? Anyone?

I'm a h.s. senior taking dual-enrollment classes at Wofford this year (also, I work there), and I absolutely LOVE Wofford. My brother, who is also a senior, is going to be a freshman there in the fall. I can't say enough wonderful things about WoCo - the ppl, the profs, the stimulating, engaging classes, extracurriculars, etc. PM me if you have any specific questions! I have many friends at WoCo, and they all say Wofford was the best decison of their lives, no regrets. WoCo students are the most fiercely loyal I've ever met.

osmay90, thanks for taking the time for responding. Wofford doesn't get enough respect here on CC and I don't know why. I suspect it is a gem in the woods. Our daughter is a H.S. jr and we are hoping she will at least take a look. Our son is a sophomore at Furman. He loves it there and she has visited several times. We have a friend who's daughter is a soph at Wofford and loving it too. Good luck!

Our S/D were named Wofford Scholars this past August and are HS seniors in their final semester ( argh!). They will be attending Wofford Scholars Day on Feb. 16 for RD applicants and are hoping they will like the campus with students in attendance- we visited in late June when students were away and S/D did not like Wofford as much as Furman. That said- every time they talk with someone who has attended Wofford their interest is piqued.

I think the campus is beautiful, the academics are great and the atmosphere terrific. Other schools our twins have applied to include: Furman, Rhodes, Vandy, Rollins, Sewanee, Pepperdine, Stetson and Oglethorpe. D has also applies to Dartmouth and Cornell-just to see what will happen.

I agree with previous poster-reputation of Wofford continues to grow-the collegial environment between faculty and students with no TA's and the 3-2 programs are great. The mean SAT score has increased in the past 2 years as well.

Georgiatwins, Those are all great schools. Good luck to you and your twins. We visited Rhodes. I liked it, son did not. He is now at Furman and loves it. Hopefully, we will visit Wofford sometime this spring.

I'm a senior in high school and was accepted to Wofford. Everyone I have talked to about it had only positive things to say. Hopefully after I go to the Night and Day program this weekend my decision will be easier to make =)

My S is a Wofford scholar and is also accepted at Furman. He is having a hard time deciding b/w the two. Wofford is a great place and everyone has been great at answering questions. It seems that most of the students come from the general area/region surrounding Wofford. We are looking for another midwesterner who is thinking about attending Wofford.

I don’t know if it’s a fit, but I’m scouting out Wofford for D right now because of what I’ve read about the Chinese program. D has visited Furman and likes it a lot, but we’d also be very interested in learning more about Wofford. It’s probably not fair, but it would be great if someone could offer a compare and contrast between Wofford and Furman. What’s the culture like? What type of students are attracted to the schools?

I’m bumping this thread in hopes of generating some discussion. Everything I’ve read or seen about Wofford has been mostly positive. Given this, I do wonder why this forum stays so dormant. Hopefully, we will be visiting sometine in the next two or three weeks. Any thoughts on what we might expect? Any tips on making the most of our visit? Recent news? D will be interviewing for Wofford Scholars and maybe having a music audition. Thanks.

FLVADAD - I know several kids who are students at Wofford or who have graduated from Wofford. If you have specific questions I may be able to answer.

I know Wofford has lots of kids who go to med school. Many of the doctors in our town graduated from Wofford and many send their kids there and they go on to medical school. My neighbor is a senior and has applied to med school. All of the kids that go love it. I have never heard them or their parents say anything against the school. The Greek life is prevalent and the kids that I know all participate in lots of activities. Not sure where you are from but the Alumni network is pretty strong.

I can say that I don’t know of a single kid who graduated that didn’t go on to med, law, or graduate school.
