Although I love Noho and my daughter does make a lot of use of it - it is not a city and even though a 2 or 3 hour bus ride sounds quick (and in reality it often takes longer) you are really committing a weekend to going to either Boston or NYC - which is not easy with the workload and various commitments that stack up- so it is not something people do regularly. Smith has many great things going for it as does noho but from the parent of an urban child ( who is happy but gets to spend her summers in a city and still has times she wishes that were all year) it is not going to replace an urban college experience if that is what you are really looking for.

I agree with overwhelmed, Noho’s not a city and even though Boston and New York are close, in reality you won’t be getting out there more than once or twice a year unless you are very extremely dedicated to going.

That being said, I grew up in a large city and I strongly considered going to college in New York City instead of Massachusetts. Still, I think I made the right choice. Noho is kind of like a cool, hip neighborhood of a city (it reminds me a lot of a particular neighborhood in my home city actually). It’s very diverting and interesting and you get a lot of the perks of a large city (good restaurants, interesting entertainment options, good concerts), but without some of the downsides (traffic, noise, pollution, crime).

So it’s not a school deep in the woods or out in the isolated country side, but it’s also, as overwhelmed says, not an urban university.

Thank you all for sharing your experience and giving helpful advice. It actually helps me to feel less confused and more relieved now. I guess I’m going with RD then (:
And jaz2012, if you’re still going to apply Smith for RD, it’d be great if we can be both accepted. Good luck to you then (:

Hey, did anyone get a handbook from Smith with another letter regarding rejection for the WoD program?

Hey, eveyone!
I was recently admitted to the WOD program at Smith, and I was wondering if anyone else was too!
Excited?! I know I am!

I have not heard yet but…I am a dude & not applying to nursing school

Feel free to ■■■■■ elsewhere sir.
