I'd like some info from current Davidson students about the women's eating houses. How many typically live in an eating house? Does each one have it's own character, membership (i.e. arts, sports, international)? What percentage of Davidson women join them, and is there a "rushing" activity like with sororities?

Thanks for your input!

They are not residential; no one lives in them. You will find some additional information in the student life section of the Davidson Web site.

We did go to the web site, and it just listed which houses and fraternities were on the court. Maybe we were just in the wrong part of the site. Thanks for setting us straight on this though!

Each house definitely has its own character, and while no one lives in them, you do form a bond with the other members. No one lives in the fraternaties either, you eat together, have parties together, and in general just hang out. I would say as far as percentages, my guess would be a little under half are in them.

At one point I turned up individual websites for some of the houses, although I don't remeber how I did it. Using the site's search function will often turn up useful pages.
