Hello, I applied to emory but decided not to go, as Penn accepted me.
I was sure of this decision after seeing Penn's financial aid, and then a few days later seeing Emory's financial aid.
For Me:

Penn gave me 32k in scholarships, 3k in work study, 2500k loan, and 7500 EFC.

Emory gave me 19k in scholarship, 3000 in HOPE, some other stuff in being a GA resident, 1800 in work study, 3000 loan, and the rest up to my parents to pay.
This is a SIGNIFICANT difference.

This doesn't bother me, as I have penn to go to.

What I'm worried about is my friend, who got accepted into both Oxford and Emory. He's worked his ass off over the years, and he deserves ALOT of need based money to go to the school he wants. He's the child of a single mom, and as you can imagine they don't have a whole lot. I want to believe that Emory or Oxford will give him nearly a full ride.

Will that happen? I know emory's endowment isn't harvard or penn or anything, but I'm wondering how they took care of lower income students in single parent homes.
