etc
honors with distinction student all through out high school

i think nyu would be out of the question. boston university might be worth applying to. but even so i think mc gill would be the best college to attend from all listed.

I think you have a chance at both of those considering the Canadian grading system is very different than the American one.
You have to consider that those are really good marks to get here in Canada, but when they are compared to the grades from American high schools they don't seem high.
Anyway you should try the SAT's, but also try to do some more extracirriculars.

Are your parents able to pay for college without financial aid? NYU in particular is notorious for poor financial aid awards -- and coming from Canada, you made get nothing. I am not sure how FA is at Boston, but it is something to look at before you get your hopes up or waste your time.

bu isnt bad with FA from what ive heard, but yeah nyu is terrible

Also, if you are applying as an international that changes everything in regards to FA.

BU also gives their best aid based on merit.

BU is pretty straight up front about stating;

Your academic record is an important factor in deterniming your eligibility for Boston University scholarships and need-based grants. Key indicators such as high school GPA, rank in class, and standardized test scores are considered with the strength of your academic program and extracurricular activities.

High school GPA of 3.6
High school rank in the top 8%
SAT I composite score of 1327
ACT score of 29

If your credentials place you at or above this profile, your chances of receiving Boston University scholarships or grants are likely to be excellent or very good, particularly if you have calculated need. If your credentials place you below this level, your chances of receiving University grants and scholarships, or of having your financial need fully met with these awards, are reduced.

"Financial aid from Boston University is not available to international students. For general information about financial assistance, students may request the booklet "Financial Planning for Study in the United States" from the U.S. Information Agency or binational advising center in their home country."

However, it does list several merit aid awards for internationals:

"Trustee Scholarship
The Trustee Scholarship recognizes truly outstanding high school seniors with a four-year (full tuition and certain mandatory fees) merit award. Principals or headmasters of schools must nominate Trustee Scholar candidates. Nomination letters and accompanying materials, including application, must be received at Boston University by December 1.

Nomination and essay forms are available online at the Trustee Scholars site.

Recipients' average high school GPA: 3.90
Average rank in class: top 1 percent
Average SAT score: Critical Reading and Math = 1510, Writing = 750
Average ACT score: 33

University Scholarship
University Scholarships are awarded by the University to students with exceptional academic records. This four-year, half-tuition, renewable scholarship reflects Boston University's commitment to excellence in academic achievement.

Recipients' average high school GPA: 3.90
Average rank in class: top 4 percent
Average SAT score: Critical Reading and Math = 1450, Writing = 720
Average ACT score: 32"

yeh come to think of it i would definitely need financial aid if i were to attend boston univiersity or NYU........
my best bet is to probably stick with applying to canadian schools as the tution is much cheaper and the admission process requires less work because i believe that entrance is based upon 5 grade 12 level courses and i already have 3 at 93, 90, 92.....so the probablity that i will be accepted is higher it seems

consider a US school for graduate work -- you have great schools in Canada and the price is right!

I have a 3.77 GPA for you, you have a good chance at NYU and BU going by that. Remember that some schools don't award financial aid for int'l students. Look to see if you qualify for aid and how much you "need" from schools, you can estimate financial aid packages on collegeboard and see how the costs would differ from Canadian Universities.
