Hi Carls!
Recently, I've applied for ED to Emory(mostly because I thought I could have a higher chance of getting in for ED there, I like Carleton much more) , but I recently learned that Carletons ED Acceptance rate is extremely high. High enough that someone with my rank/gpa could get accepted, so I wanted to ask if I should go through the trouble of rescinding my application to Emory and sending it to Carleton instead.

My stats are listed below:

SAT: 2170
MATH+READING = 1470/1600
ACT: 34 (English: 32, Math: 29, Reading: 35, Science: 35)
Taking two SAT subject tests soon, in literature and math II. Expecting a perfect score on the Lit test and near perfect on the Math II test (above 740 hopefully; I hear the curve is beautiful)

Rank: 45% ish...I really did not try at all in Freshman and Soph year and I go to an extremely competitive public school. I have a massive GPA upswing my junior year though.

UW GPA: 3.3-3.4 ~
W GPA: 4.2

Job Experience:
-Publicity Manager for a Journal, used to be an Editorial Intern before being promoted.
-Blog Writer for the same Journal above
-First Reader for a different Journal
-Had an Internship underneath a psychiatric doctor
-Shadowed different surgical teams in India

EC'S:
Lots of clubs I joined my senior year just because they sounded fun, but those don't really matter for admissions, so I'll say the one's I've stuck with for most of senior year. .

-SkillsUSA
-HOPE (Club that mentors freshman with academic and personal problems
-Outreach (Volunteering Club)
-Temple (Religious Center in which I am extremely active in)
-Part of an organization that helps raise money to fight about child trafficking.
I have about 400 volunteer hours from Outreach and my Temple.

Awards/Honors won:

-Bunch of district/state writing competition awards (either first or second prize), like 4 or 5
-Published in three magazines and one anthology
-First Place in District for both T-Shirt Design and Pin Design for SkillsUSA
-Attended the Iowa Young Writers Studio, a program that is coordinated by one of the best MFA programs in the world (21% Acceptance rate)
-AP Scholar With Distinction

ALSO:

-Wrote an essay for the Concord Review, which I have not heard back from, but I'm planning on sending the paper (twenty-five pages and 7000 words) to Carleton anyway as a supplement.

APs taken:
Statistics (3)
World History (3)
Environmental Science (4)
English (5)
Psychology(5)

Senior Course Load:
AP Biology, AP Physics C, AP Gov, AP Econ, AP Calc AB, AP English IV, Health,

So, by the time I graduate, I will have roughly 12 AP tests complete (because Physics C has 2 tests)

Teacher Recommendation: Rec Letters would be coming from my AP Psychology teacher, and my Creative Writing teacher, both of whom are pretty fond of me.
Counselor Rec: I think this should be pretty good actually
Interview: None
Essays: I went in for a essay critique session run by a college-prep program, and the person reviewing my essay told me that my essay was the second best she's ever read and that she couldn't find anything to change. This is not to brag or anything, I'm just saying that English is a very strong point for me (my only strong point actually...)

Supplemental Essay: These are eh, I haven't showed them to anybody yet, but I think they are decent for a first draft.

Other:

Race: Indian
School type: Purely public, but still a very highly ranked school.
Income Bracket: 150k+
Gender: Male

TL;DR -
+Pretty good extracurricular's that should speak for itself as to why I would love to go to a liberal arts school
+Very Difficult Course Load with lots of AP's
+Okay-ish AP Scores
+Within Carleton's Range for SAT Scores
+Above/Top 75% of Carletons ACT Scores
+Weighted GPA is....okay?
-Very, very bad unweighted GPA
-Horrendous Rank

And so....
Is it worth the trouble to switch my ED application to a school I love more than Emory? Do I have a pretty good chance of being accepted?
