I initiated the MIT application process in October. It was a surprise decision. I wasn’t prepared.
I wrote the SAT subject tests (Math 2, Physics and Chemistry) in December and I did really well. I found SAT questions really easy and I know that I can solve questions FAR more difficult than SAT questions.
I won’t be able to take AP tests in time. I went through the AP syllabus and I strongly believe that I can do really well in AP tests. I am afraid that I won’t be able to prove my ability to the admissions office through my application.
I have been preparing for IIT-JEE for 3 years (I am from India :P). I have cleared several competitive exams, won scholarships and much more. I have attended the National Science Camp at Indian Institute of Science. I have also received an INSPIRE internship. I have also cleared the first stage of several olympiads (one among 300 selected all over India). Even if I clear the subsequent stages and make to the international team, it will be too late to report it to the admissions office.
You can check the old JEE Advanced papers (http://www.jeeadv.ac.in/sample-questions) to get an idea of the difficulty level of the paper. I can solve such questions but I don’t know how I can convey to the admissions office. It is really bothering me that my application doesn’t indicate how good I am.
TL/DR: I cannot take AP tests in time but I am really good with my subjects that I can score high in the AP tests. I have cleared several exams where questions are harder than AP level but these are national level exams (probably won’t be recognized elsewhere in the world). How do I prove my intellectual ability to the admission office?
