I applied to many Ivy League schools, mostly because I was convinced that I'd only get into one, and that my decision would be made for me.

But, as it turns out I was accepted to UPenn's Huntsman Program, Brown, Yale, Princeton, and Harvard and I'm left with a huge decision. I'm wondering if anyone can help me weigh the pros and cons of each, considering I plan to major in IR and pursue diplomacy?

one thing to keep in mind is grad school. Obviously, Princeton has an outstanding school of IR, but they do not have a grad program. Unless I am mistaken, Harvard and Yale both have grad programs for your field of interest. I would do some research and find out if that makes a significant difference.

Anyone who gets into Princeton through academics, hard work, and being outstanding can get into WWS. I’m pretty sure most of the kids who weren’t accepted were athletes, legacy kids, etc.

Just work as hard in college as you did in hs.

1 - they think you’re just using the program to help you get to Wall Street
2 - your grades are lousy
3 - what you propose to study in WWS could easily be done in a diff dept

If you show GENUINE interest in things related to WWS, and you’ve explored the field with some success, then you will likely get admitted. That’s basically what my RCA told me, and she’s in WWS. Don’t know how reliable you’ll think that is, but that’s all I have to report haha
