Wooster EA Class of 2025

Congrats all! My DS will be attending Wooster; he applied ED. We visited a number of schools but once he visited Wooster, it was his clear favorite. FYI, he did not receive an email — he was checking his portal, and the hard copy letter arrived within a day or so of when his portal was updated. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear

Congratulations everyone!
My son applied EA and is still waiting on a decision. Wooster is one of his top choices.

I’m wondering if any students who applied for the Music Merit Scholarship have received their admissions decisions yet. S21 applied EA and we’re hoping we’ll hear before 12/31. That seems so long from now. LOL!

@HApplyEverAfter My D21 applied EA and applied for both the music scholarship and college scholar. She has not received her admissions decision.

While it is possible we will receive decisions by 12/31, it’s unlikely because the school is closed for the holidays. The advertised decision date for EA is 1/8 and my guess is the earliest we will hear back is a few days before that.

Good luck to your son!

I’m glad I was wrong about it being the week of 1/8!

My daughter’s just updated as well. College Scholar & theatre scholarships. COW looks amazing and they’ve been so personable and impressive through the application process. Top out of state choice for mine.

*Updating to add stats as requested…

Out of state
3.8 UW / 4.4 W
33 ACT
Rigorous/accelerated HS program, all AP/Honors with senior year optional
EC - Deep commitment and leadership in theatre
Essay & LOR were both commented on by admissions as very strong.
Showed a lot of interest, seemed to really connect with admissions rep.

My son was accepted with the Clarence Beecher Allen Scholarship for 38K per year. Wooster has been so amazing and has been my sons top choice all along until he was accepted at Tulane recently. I’m not sure he will pass on Tulane. Wooster is absolutely fantastic though.

I am a Wooster alum and my D is in her 3rd year at Tulane. If I can answer any questions that may help as he makes his decision, please reach out.

Did anybody received FA award from Wooster yet?

I’d love to talk to you. It’s difficult because we live in PA so obviously we as parents would love Wooster because it’s closer. However he is more interested in Tulane because he is a theater/music kid at heart although he plans to major in marketing. He was admitted to Freeman and Wooster does not have a traditional Business school.

They also don’t do musicals, just straight plays. That is definitely something mine is taking into consideration.

D21 was offered the College Scholar award tonight.

In-state
4.4 W
1410 SAT (early pre-covid test)
IB Diploma
Lots of service

Wooster has by far had the best communication of any school she has applied to and she loved her campus visit last Feb.

Congratulations to your daughter!

My daughter just received her ED today. She received a full Dean’s Scholarship and a full Performing Arts Scholarship.

I’m meant “EA” not “ED”
