Word Choice on Application

Hey guys. On one of my Early Action college application essays, I (unknowingly at the time) used a word with a negative connotation and submitted the essay. The college is very selective and prestigious, so I'm worried... Should I call in and tell the admissions office that I used the wrong word and my intended meaning? I've called the admissions office before, and the committee there is really nice and patiently answered my previous questions during my last call. Thanks.

If it is not a typo, I don’t think you should.

what was the word/sentence?

Drawing attention to this makes it worse. Let it go and know that the reader will give you the benefit of the doubt.
