UH OH a mistake in my college essay

<p>What should I do if there's a mistake in my essay? I left out a word and added a random one (i don't know how i did this) so the sentence itself doesn't make any sense. I sent the online app - should I call the college and try to mail them another copy with the corrected version? My friend told me not to do this because it would draw attention to the error; however I'm worried that this error might screw up my app (they'll think i'm careless)</p>

<p>i also did this with 3 other colleges. All of them are ivies. Help!!! Advice??</p>

<p>I don't think one sentence will make or break your admission decision. I wouldn't worry about it, but that's just my opinion.</p>

<p>Don't worry about it, especially if it was an online app. I would assume that most admissions officers are aware that the online application process is a bit quirky in terms or formatting and editing. I think they realize that a word could be easily added or deleted with a slip of the mouse. I would only seek to correct the mistake if it's in any way offensive.</p>
