<p>I was pasting a supplemental essay from Word into the common app but the word count I was getting is very different. My Word essay was 500 words but the word count initially read 450 on the common app. I then had to backspace and space between some words where common app added a paragraph and that brought the count up to 480 but can't find anymore of these. I tripled checked the word counts manually and it is 500 for both. Very confusing.</p>
<p>Once you finish everything and get the the point of hitting submit you will have an opportunity to preview the whole application. Take your time when you get to that point and proofread/edit further as necessary.</p>
