word limit for additional info? Part 2 section 9?

A word limit is not specified, but a realistic one would be close to what nu,ber?
Would.. say... ~900 words be a fatal mistake?

Im asking because Im thinking of modifying my Common app essay and using that-- not because Im too lazy to write one, but because I believe it really does reflect who I am. 600 words plus ~200 transitioning material

Should I cut down to 500/ 600 asap?

Just click on the preview button. If your additional info section got cut off in the pdf, then it is too long.

Ok, sure thing.
But is it probable that such a lengthy response will irritate them, esp when perhaps there’s this unspoken convention to keep it around 600 words?

If you can shorten it, then you definitely should.

Could I maybe get a second opinion?

Ok, Im actually desperate, please dont hate :frowning:
Ill try bumping one last time

There’s really no need to concern yourself with “irritating” the admissions officers – their job is to read the application that you put together. However, it’s certainly more effective to be succinct than to be wordy, so if you can shorten the essay, it’s likely to improve its impact.

aw shucks it doesn’t even fit. It looks like there is a word limit after all (around 500 I believe)
oh well. Thanks for the response!
