My essay is 640 words...With a 500 word limit, is a 640 word essay is a complete no-go or will the adcom not really mind? It does not seem wordy and it flows naturally so if they're not really counting each word, will it matter? Will they be mad that I'm "disregarding" their instructions?

is it over one page?, If not you are fine Mine was 600 with a 500 limit and my 250 was almost 400. no issues, got in before most other people did.

dude 600 is weigh to long think before post man

try 550

Well, since the deadline is tonight, I would leave it the way it is if you like it and can't find a way to shorten it. You have a much better chance of getting in early with a too long essay than after the deadline with a bettter essay. Remember, they don't deny people because of essays, and that includes word count. Hope I helped. :)

shut up you cleurly hav no idae wut u r talking abou. if i wrote a SA blasting the wolvs or talking about why the spartens rool obv i get rej.

i would say for the long answer no more than one page deff.
and i would be very weary of going over 570words-ish
the admissions officer that came to my school said that they wouldnt be reading the essays and counting every word (they obviously have better things to do like getting wolverine access updated!!!!) but an extremely length essay could prob be said in a more concise way.

Got it down to 574....I'm submittin....

well, obviously if you wanted to get in you wouldn't write about that, threesixnine...
