Got it in three today. Hard mode isn’t harder, IMO. Today’s word was too easy, but yesterday’s was a beast.
In four today. I really need to walk away from H - he was looking over my shoulder making comments (he had already finished his) and that is very distracting.

@compmom: Yes, and it’s confusing as all get out. It took me a try or two to settle in but I’m enjoying it now.
I really should first try the most obvious word in my head instead of the most obscure…

I was happy with a 3 today. I closed it too fast, even forgot the answer a minute later. But I found a way to google to a Forbes site that showed answer (and steps along the way) for wordl 226.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you are saying, but you can view your game for today until it resets for tomorrow. Or at least I can. If I minimize the statistics screen, my game (as played) is still there. This works even if I close the browser tab and reopen it, as long as I’m on the same device.

The article says that it “will initially remain free to new and existing players.”
I will be done if they start charging or requiring a subscription to their “library of word games”
