I am a recent graduate from a top 5 undergraduate university (3.65 gpa) and I've just finished my first year of full-time employment. My goal is to attend a top business school abroad (HEC Paris, Said, IMD, Insead, or Iese) after finishing 3 years of work experience.

For the last 6 months, I've worked as strategy consultant for a big consulting firm after working as a business analyst for a retail firm for 7 months. A recruiter from a foreign affairs think tank recently contacted me regarding a research associate position and I am very interested. However, I'm worried that business schools will look down on jumping from employer to employer too quickly.

Is this a valid concern? How long should I stay at my current job before thinking about transitioning to a new one? I'm thinking a year and a half minimum, but I'm hoping to get some context from other people.

Also, how particular are business schools about the minimum years of work experience? My decision to apply after three years is largely due to the 3 year minimum stated by my schools of interest (accepted students average 5-7 years).

Thanks for the help!
