Work study - financial aid question

Hey, hope everything's going well for you all.

I was just wondering how I can find out whether or not I'm eligible for work study at UVA as an incoming student. The university's website says that all "non-Virginian" undergraduates are automatically considered, but I'm in-state, and my financial aid award right now does not include anything about work study.

Is there a separate process for requesting work study if you're in-state or something? I got work study from W&M and Wake Forest, and I find it odd that UVA only gave me loans. ):

Thank you, and excited to be part of UVA's 2015 :D

If you are not eligible for official work study, you can still apply for part-time jobs with the university or its vendors. I’m guessing that dining services is probably hiring, for example.

Thanks for the help. I’ll do some more research. What would you say the pros/cons are of working within the university versus outside?
