Recently I am a freshman that is eligible for work study, but I can’t find work on campus, not even the Dining Center for god knows what reason. So if work study was not given to me, where is the money coming from in my financial aid package??
Did your school email you a list of positions on campus? I would call the FA office.
The money is coming from no where if you don’t find a job. Have you applied to any non-work-study jobs at local businesses?
It’s December - have you been trying since late August to find a workstudy job?
Have you been looking for a work study job all semester? I am also curious. You will not get the money without the job. Call the FA office now and ask them how to go about finding a position for the spring.
Do you have any savings from your summer job?
It’s like any other job. You don’t get the money until you earn it.
At my DD’s school there were always work study jobs available at their call center…the place where calls are made to solicit donations from alumni. Try there.
yes the dining center said there were “not a lot of positions left”
What about the call center?
So there are more than zero positions available in dining. Did you get your application in today?
Why are you applying for positions in December? Is this for next semester?

WHEN were you awarded the work study? When did you get your aid pkg that indicated WS?
If you don’t find a WS job, then “the money” will never be given to you. “The money” is an award that must be earned by WORKING.
When did the WS award show up in your FA pkg?
